Background :
Insulin-like growth factor binding proteins (IGFBPs) are a family of proteins binding to Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), generally including IGFBP1, IGFBP2, IGFBP3, IGFBP4, IGFBP5, and IGFBP6 [PMID: 30214426]. IGFBP1, a 40 to 50 kDa protein, which plays an indispensable role in normal growth and development, and in the pathophysiology of various tumors. IGFBP-1 has been shown to be associated with the risk of various tumors, and has a vital function in regulating tumor behaviors such as proliferation, migration, invasion and adhesion through different molecular mechanisms. The biological actions of IGFBP-1 in cancer are found to be related to its phosphorylation state, and the IGF-dependent and -independent mechanisms. [PMID: 1648311, PMID: 33841624].

Product Details FAQ Citations(1) Video Pictures Documents |Overview |Description This gene is a member of the insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) family and encodes a protein with an IGFBP domain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. The protein binds both insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) I and II and circulates in the plasma. Binding of this protein prolongs the half-life of the IGFs and alters their interaction with cell surface receptors. |Synonym Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1, IBP-1; IGF-binding protein 1, Placental protein 12, PP12 |Host Rabbit |Specificity IGFBP1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total IGFBP1. |Species Reactivity Human |Applications WB 1:500-1:2000, IHC 1:50-1:100, ELISA(peptide) 1:20000-1:40000 |Immunogen A synthesized peptide derived from Human IGFBP1(Accession P08833), corresponding to amino acid residues W229-V257. |Properties |Form Liquid |Concentration 1mg/ml |Purification The antiserum was purified by peptide affinity chromatography using SulfoLink™ Coupling Resin . |Clonality Monoclonal Antibody |Clone 196-47 |Storage Temp. In amniotic fluid, the unmodified protein is the most abundant form, while mono-, bi-, tri- and tetraphosphorylated forms are present in decreasing amounts. The phosphorylation state may influence the propensity to proteolysis. |Cellular localization Endoplasmic reticulum;Extracellular region or secreted;Golgi apparatus; |UniProt P08833 | Western blot analysis of extracts of Mouse livertissue lysate, using IGFBP1antibody|Immunohistochemistryof paraffin-embeddedHuman liver cancer tissue tissue usingIGFBP1antibody. |Tips:This product is for research use only. Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
